Meditation Sessions

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique, such as focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity, to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. Meditation can also help you improve your spiritual health. We all need a special space that we can escape to and connect with our own higher power. It helps recharge our energy and keeps us balanced. We have created a beautiful and sacred space set with the intention to soothe the soul.

We invite community members to practice their meditation in this sacred space. It is a safe haven to listen to our soul and get the answers to our questions. The space feels peaceful and is where we can just be alone and relax. It is a place of solace that we have chosen to keep simple and uncluttered. The few items chosen for this sacred space are intended to bring us peace and serenity. We have some pillows, mats, beautiful rug, and other inspirational items for this purpose. We like to connect the space to nature in any way we can such as bringing in fresh flowers. We strive to infuse the space with balance and harmony.

We also have created beautiful playlists that can help soothe the soul with music. Our incense, aromatic oils and candles with meditative scents create a beautiful aroma that helps us stay focused and fills our space with beautiful and soothing energies. We welcome affirmation stones, crystals, beads, artwork, bells, chimes, and Buddha to help make our meditation space feel more personal and tranquil and to provide an immense sense of and peace and serenity.

Mental Health Counseling

Couple Counseling:

Every couple experiences ups and downs in their levels of closeness and harmony over time. This can range from basic concerns of stagnation to serious expressions of aggressive behavior. Marriage counseling or couples counseling can help resolve conflicts and heal wounds. Overall, couples counseling can help couples slow down their spiral and reestablish realistic expectations and goals.

Family Counseling:

Family counseling is often sought due to a life change or stress negatively affecting one or all areas of family closeness, family structure (rules and roles) or communication style. This mode of counseling can take a variety of forms. Sometimes it is best to see an entire family together for several sessions. Common issues addressed in family counseling are concerns around parenting, sibling conflict, loss of family members, new members entering the family, dealing with a major move or a general change affecting the family system.

Family counseling involves face-to-face clinical intervention sessions that are facilitated by a specially trained mental health clinician and members of a family unit. In family therapy, the clinician assists the family members with identifying maladaptive interaction patterns between family members and developing competence in utilizing more adaptive patterns of interaction. Family members are assisted in understanding and improving the ways in which they interact and communicate with each other.

Treatment is focused on changing the family dynamics by revealing areas of strength and reducing and managing conflict. The goal of family therapy is to get family members to recognize and address problem areas by establishing roles that promote autonomy and individual membership while maintaining a sense of family cohesion and solidarity and rebuilding positive family relationships.

Group Counseling:

Group counseling allows one to find out that they are not alone in their type of life challenge. To be involved in a group of peers who are in a similar place not only increases one’s understanding of the struggles around the topic but also the variety of the possible solutions available. Typically, groups have up to eight participants, one or two group leaders, and revolve around a common topic like anger management, self-esteem, divorce, domestic violence, recovery from abuse and trauma, and substance abuse and recovery.

Group counseling is face-to-face intervention sessions facilitated by a specially trained mental health clinician and a small group of recipients, who are addressing similar issues. The group process allows members to offer each other support, share common experiences, identify strategies that have been successful, and to challenge each other’s behaviors and cognitions. Group therapy is useful in helping members grow emotionally, to practice new coping and decision-making skills, to develop new and more positive ways of relating to people, and provide support in a safe environment that encourages the healing process.

Individual Counseling:

Individual counseling is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, etc.

Individual therapy can be used to assist the individual in identifying maladaptive behaviors and cognitions, identifying more adaptive alternatives, and learning to use those new adaptive behaviors and cognitions. Positive outcomes of individual therapy include:

Learning and practicing adaptive coping and problem-solving skills;

Promoting cognitive and emotional development;

Resolving inner conflicts or dysfunctional thinking;

Learning to express feelings in an appropriate manner; and

Improving the ability to relate to others and developing healthy relationships.
